There are many variations on how to make guacamole depending on the region and country. For me, my favorite is how they make it in Guatemala. The recipe I make I learned from my mother, to me this is so nice and easy and you really appreciate the taste of the avocados.
Ingredients:
3 ripe avocados
1/2 onion
1 pinch of dried oregano
1 lime
Salt
Fresh Cilantro (optional)
Instructions:
Chop onion into very small cubes. In a deep bowl add the onion, squeeze the lime juice and add the oregano and salt to taste.
Cut the avocados in half and scoop out the avocado into the bowl and mash with a fork . Add the freshly chopped cilantro if you choose to use it.
Mix well and taste for seasoning.
Enjoy with some tortilla chips and a cold beer!
