This recipe is one of the easiest ways to cook a whole chicken in the oven. The rubbing gives it a fantastic taste and the beer helps keep the chicken super moist. The chicken is so flavorful and the meat falls off the bone, for sure a crowd pleaser!
Ingredients:
1 whole chicken
3 tablespoons of Olive oil
1 tsp. of smoked Paprika
1 tsp dried Parsley
1 tsp. of Garlic powder or 1 minced Garlic
1/2 tsp. Cayenne pepper or Red Chili flakes
1 tsp. black Pepper
1 tsp. Salt
1 can of beer (I prefer a Lager)
Instructions:
Preheat the oven at 210 Celcius / 410 Farenheit
Line a baking pan with foil, this is to prevent that the juices of the chicken make a mess of your oven.
Clean the chicken and rub with salt on top and inside the skin.
In a small bowl mix olive oil, smoked paprika, dried parsley, garlic, chili flakes, and pepper. Season the chicken with this mixture, use your hands to massage the rub inside and out.
Pour or drink 1/4 of the beer and place it in the baking pan. Place the chicken upright on top of the can.
Place in the oven and cook for 1 hour or until golden brown.
