Heavenly burrata and cherry tomatoes pizza! Finally the summer is here and the tomatoes are at its best, so rich in flavor. This is one of my favorite pizzas, the combination of roasted tomatoes and burrata cheese is simply delicious.
What is Burrata? Burrata is an Italian fresh cheese that is characterized by its soft texture, the mozzarella is formed into a pouch and then filled with soft, stringy curd and cream.
Ingredients:
1 Pizza dough base - homemade or store bought
Tomato sauce
1 handful of cherry tomatoes
1 ball of Burratta cheese
Fresh arugula
Basil
Oregano
Salt and pepper
Olive oil
Preparation:
Start by heating your oven to 210 °C / 410 °F with a pizza stone inside to heat up.
In a small bowl toss the cherry tomatoes with olive oil, salt and pepper.
Get your pizza dough and top with the tomato sauce, season with oregano, basil, salt and pepper and then add the cherry tomatoes.
Slide the pizza onto the hot stone and bake for about 12-15 minutes, or until the dough looks golden brown and the tomatoes are bursting.
Transfer the pizza to a cutting board, break the burrata cheese with your hands and spread it on top of the pizza. Finish with the fresh arugula and a drizzle of olive oil and fresh cracked pepper.
Eat immediately!
