Chocolate covered Strawberries

Updated: Jul 27, 2022

Strawberries and chocolate, what a perfect combination! I prefer to use dark chocolate, but you can use milk or white chocolate as well. For this recipe I used Nestle chocolate bars made especially for melting and to use in desserts.

This is not only perfect for a romantic dinner, it is also a delicious and elegant dessert that is super easy to make ahead of time and you only need two ingredients!

Combine with a bottle of Champagne or Cava!

Ingredients:

24 fresh Strawberries - Try to pick medium size and not too ripe.

125 grams of 70% dark chocolate (1 cup)

Preparation:

Wash the strawberries and pat dry with a paper towel.

Cover a tray or a board with parchment paper.

Cut the chocolate into small chunks and place in a heatproof bowl. Fill a small pot with water (1/4 of the pot size) and bring to a simmer over medium heat.

Place the bowl over the simmering water and stir once the chocolate starts to melt. Be careful not to burn the chocolate or let any water inside the bowl. Continue to stir until all the chocolate is melted and smooth. Carefully remove the bowl from the heat.

Hold the strawberry from the stem. Now dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, lift and twist. Try to cover each strawberry halfway and let the excess chocolate drip.

Place the chocolate covered strawberry on the parchment paper.

Chill the strawberries in the refrigerator to allow the chocolate to set at least 30 minutes.
