These recipe is full of flavor and when roasted the Brussel sprouts come out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside.
Over the year I believe the opinion on this veggie has changed a lot. No one wants to eat boiled or overcooked sprouts which turn out bitter. The secret is to roast them to bring out the perfect flavor.
Servings: 4
Ingredients:
400 grams of Brussel sprouts (trimmed and halved)
1 clove of garlic (grated or minced)
50 grams of Parmesan cheese (grated)
1/2 lemon
Salt
Fresh cracked pepper
Preparation:
Preheat the oven at 210° C / 410° F
Start by trimming off the end of the Brussel sprouts then cut in half. If you have some sprouts that are too big cut them in four.
In a medium bowl mix your sprouts, drizzle olive oil, add the garlic and Parmesan cheese. Season generously with salt and pepper. Mix well so that all ingredients are coating the Brussel sprouts.
Transfer the ingredients to an oven tray. Make sure it is all in one layer so that it cooks evenly.
Roast for about 20-25 minutes or until tender.
Remove from oven, transfer to a serving dish and add the lemon juice and more Parmesan cheese on top.
