Green Apple Gallete

Ingredients:


2 green apples sliced in wedges

2 tablespoons of butter

Cinnamon

1/4 cup brown sugar

Lemon zest

1 puff pastry (I use the brand Buitoni)

Almonds

1 egg


Directions:


Preheat the oven at 200 Celcius / 392 Farenheit


In a pan melt the butter, add sugar and let it melt. Add the apples, cinnamon and lemon zest and cook for about 5 minutes. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, lay the dough and place the filing in the middle leaving about 2-3 centimeters from the edge and fold the sides towards the center leaving the middle open. Brush with the egg wash and sprinkle with brown sugar and almonds. Cook for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.


It is much better if you eat it with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream or a nice espresso coffee.
